(Body Found earlier this month)...It has been identified.

The body was found by hikers near Jacumba. The Medical Examiner's Office in San Diego has identified the body as that of the man reported missing in July. Derek Barge had been staying at a resort near Jacumba when he went missing. Barge, a 40 year old world renowned physicist living in La Jolla, was on his way to visit relatives in Arizona. He decided to spend the night at the resort before continuing with his trip. He apparently went for a hike on the night he disappeared. The body was found off the trail. A cause of death has not been determined.
