(California Transportation Commission announced the allocations)...They have allocated $3.5 billion for projects around the state.

Allocations went to two projects in Imperial County. $311,000 are going to the Bowker Road Rehabilitation project. The project is near Calexico, on Bowker Road from Jasper Road to Fawcett Road, within the existing right of way of Bowker Road. Approximately one mile of Bowker Road will be rehabilitated. For the 2nd project, $1.5 million to connect vulnerable communities; Calexico East Port of Entry Intermodel Transportation Center and system improvement projects. It includes the acquisition of private property to construct a new Intermodel transportation center, including station amenities. The improvements will mean a better travel experience at the Calexico East Port of Entry by making trips safer, easier and more comfortable, while increasing transit ridership and reduction of vehicle emission that contribute to climate change.
