The Brawley City Council took action on several items at their Tuesday meeting.
Following a public hearing, the council approved the Master Fee Schedule. It will take affect February 1, 2026. The fee schedule had not been comprehensively updated in more than 20 years.
The council also approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the city and the Southern California Association of Governments to work together on planning for the Main Street Project. The project is expected to identify improvements and implementation strategies along State Route 86 from Las Flores Drive to Legion Road focusing on promoting health, safety and sustainability through the corridor.
The council also recognized Police Chief Jimmy Duran for his years of service to the City of Brawley. Chief Duran will retire at the end of the year.
