(Cocaine and Methamphetamine seized this past Tuesday)...At 12:45 pm CBP officers encountered a 47-year-old man driving an empty tractor-trailer into the US from Mexico.

The driver and the rig were sent to secondary inspection. Non-intrusive technology was used to scan the truck. Irregularities within the frame were found. A cursory inspection was conducted, which led to the discovery of a non-factory compartment within the frame. 56 packages were found in the frame. Tests revealed the packages contained over 148 pounds of cocaine and 12.08 pounds of methamphetamine. The driver was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations. The narcotics and the tractor-trailer rig were seized by the Customs and Border Protection
