Health officials say a COVID vaccination will not prevent a person from testing positive for thee virus. They say the chances are very possible the vaccine will prevent hospitalization and even death as a result of the virus. The Imperial County Public Health Department has scheduled Community Vaccine Clinics for the month of January. The Clinics will be held at 2895 South Fourth Street in El Centro. They will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday. Tuesday and Thursday will be Pfizer Clinics for all those 5 years of age and older. The Pfizer Clinics will be opoen from 8:30 am to 12 noon and from 1:L00 pm to 5:00 pm. Wednesdays will be the J&J and Moderna Clinics for those ages 18 and older. The Wednesdday Clinics will be open from 1 pm to 5 pm. You can also go to myturn.ca.gov to find out where vaccines are available near you.
