A 55-year old man is in custody after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend with a baseball bat.

The incident was reported shortly before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. On arrival police found a woman who had a laceration on her head. She told officers that her boyfriend had hit her on the head and arm with a bat. The boyfriend was located and detained and then arrested and booked at Imperial County Jail on charges related to the assault.
