(A major seizure of fentanyl)...One of the San Diego Sector Border Patrol's largest Fentanyl seizures to date.

It happened recently at the Checkpoint between Campo and Pine Valley on Interstate 8. A pickup truck pulling an empty flatbed trailer was sent to the secondary inspection area. A Border Patrol K-9 had alerted to the vehicle. Agents conducted a search and they located packages concealed in the trailer's frame. A total of 42 bundles were discovered. The bundles contained 128.7 pounds of fentanyl pills, with an estimated street value of $758,000. The driver, a Mexican citizen, was placed under arrest. The case was turned over to the San Diego County District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
