(The County announces a Special Board meeting)....It was originally announced as a Town Hall Meeting.

The announcement had few details, other than it was going to be held in Holtville. A Few days later the County announced the Town Hall would be held March 25th at the County Administration Center in El Centro. In that announcement, they said the topic would be the proposed Imperial Data Center Project. Now. the County says the Town Hall has been scrapped. They said the Brown Act prohibits the Board of Supervisors meet in a quorum without publicly announcing it as a meeting. So now, the County Board of Supervisors have announced a special meeting to discuss the Proposed Imperial Data Center Project. The Brown Act says the Board can attend their own special meeting, but they can only listen to the presentation and ask clarifying, procedural or informational questions. They will not be able to take any action. or express support or opposition to the topic in question. The special meeting will be held March 26th in the Board Chambers at the Administration Center in El Centro County Planning and Economic Development will outline the status of the project. The project applicant will describe the proposed project and then the public will be given at least 90 minutes to comment. The special meeting will start at 6 pm.
