(Tax Season is coming up).... It will continue through April 15, unless you file for an extension.

Tax preparation can be expensive. There is a way around that. The AARP Foundation's Tax-Aide Program. It offers free tax preparation services for low to moderate income individuals of all ages. It begins February 3rd. Their services will be available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 am to 1 pm at the Old Post Office Pavilion, 230 South 5th Street in El Centro. The program is open to the public at no cost, and AARP membership is not required. Tax-aide volunteers can assist with preparing and filing federal and state tax returns. Individuals who are not required to file may still be eligible for credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Child Tax Credit but must file a return to claim them. Participants should bring all relevant documents, including W-2's, 1099's, property tax records, prior year tax returns and any IRS correspondence.
