(Brawley Police Department will be conducting a DUI Checkpoint)...It will be a sobriety and driving under the influence checkpoint.
It will be conducted tonight from 8 pm to 1 am. The checkpoint will be set-up at an undisclosed location. The Department says DUI Checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving related collision. The primary purpose of a checkpoint is to promote public safety by deterring and removing impaired drivers from the road. Brawley Police Chief Jimmy Duran says impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk.
