Carter has been appointed to the League of California Cities Public Safety Policy Committee. The appointment is for one year. This marks Carter's third statewide leadership role with Cal Cities. She previously served on the community services policy committee in 2023 and on the Transportation, Communications, and Public Works Policy committee in 2025. The Public Safety Policy Committee plays a key role in reviewing legislation and issues related to law enforcement, fire services, emergency response and public safety funding. The Committee meets three times in 2026, in person in January and March and virtually in June.
