The Imperial County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday.
Among the action taken was the approval of over $2 million in funding for the Operation Stonegarden Program under the Imperial County Sheriff's Office. The program provides support for local efforts that strengthen border security and enhance public safety by supporting local law enforcement operations. The board also approved the expenditure of $2,001 to support the Imperial Valley 9-11 Memorial Event and Stairclimb on September 6. The event honors those lost in the September 11, 2001 terrorist strike. The 9-11 event promotes community unity as well as providing an opportunity to participate in a tribute to first responders.
