(The Fair is winding down)....The 2026 edition of the California Mid-Winter Fair wraps up Sunday.

The Fair is an Agricultural Fair. State Fairs mostly began as agricultural events, and expanded out into what they are today. Agriculture is still, however, the foundation of the fair. The two main events of the Fair will be held Friday and Saturday. The events are the Jr. Livestock Auction. The Feeder Calves auction will be held Friday at 5:30 pm. Saturday at 8:30 am they will hold the auctions for Sine, small animal, goats, sheep and Beef. The auctions are a fair staple, and are a way for youths in the community to gain a feel for how tthe farming and agriculture industry operates. The participants are part of programs such as the FFA and 4-H, which gives them the tools necessary to succeed in raising their livestock
