(Calexico Police Department promotes three officers)...Calexico Police Chief Orozco announced the promotions Wednesday.

He said Officers Sundhal, Carbajal and Ruiz were promoted to Sergeant, effective immediately. Sergeant Sundahl and Sergeant Carbajal have been acting Sergeants since November. Sergeant Ruiz had been assigned to a specialized detail. All three participated in a rigorrous selection process at the end of June, for the permanent sergeant positions. The selection process included a scored oral interview and a written test, both of which they successfully compkleted, meeting all the necessary requirements for promotion.
