(Life Saving procedure saves a life)....It happened July 2nd.

Imperial County Sheriff's Office received aa 911 call. The caller reported a man was choking at his Heber residence. The hurried caller requested emergency medical services. Senior Deputy Marquez was in the area, and responded to the call. Upon arrival, the Deputy assessed the situation and immediately began the Heimlich maneuver on the 52 year old man. Success came on the second attempt. A piece of food was expelled from the man's throat and he began breathing normally. The Deputy placed the man in a recovery position until medical personnel arrived.. The ICSO recognized Senior Deputy Marquez for his quick action, and they recognized the caller for their quick response in calling for help.
