((Election canvass update)....Imperial County Registrar of Voter's Office says that approximately 17,000 ballots remain to be processed and counted for the November 3rd General Election.

They say the total includes vote-by-mail ballots received on election day, provisional ballots, and conditional voter registration ballots. In addition, about 225 challenged ballots remain. Challenged ballots include vote-by-mail ballots received without a signature or with a signature that does not match the voter's signature on file. Voters with challenged ballots may have an opportunity to resolve the issues through the ballot curing process. Information on that process is available at elections.imperialcounty.org. Election updates will continue to be released at 5 pm each weeknight until the canvass period is completed. Updates are also available at the Elections website.
