The Imperial County Pioneers Museum celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the silent film, The Winning of Barbara Worth.

The classic film stars Ronald Colman, Vilma Banky and Gary Cooper and is based on the novel The Winning of Barbara Worth by Harold Bell Wright. The book, and the movie, follows the story of the development of the Imperial Valley and is remembered for the climactic flood scene that resulted in the formation of the Salton Sea. The film will be shown Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the museum. Dinner will be served following the 90-minute-long movie. Tickets are available online at the Museum website. Proceeds from the showing support renovations at the museum.
