An Imperial County Superior Court jury found a defendant guilty of a felony.

Humberto Contreras Jr., 36, was found in possession of valuable coins that had been reported stolen. Contreras told Brawley Police that he had obtained the coins from other individuals by trading cash and drugs for the coins. Contreras was found guilty to a felony of Receiving Stolen Property. He will be sentenced on September 8, 2026.
