Imperial County Sheriff's Office Investigators are looking into a Salton City homicide.

On Sunday morning, May 17, 2026, ICSO deputies were notified of a body in the area of Plaza Avenue and Panorama Avenue in Salton City. Deputies were able to locate the body and identify the deceased man. Deputies noted that the scene appeared suspicious in nature and began the investigation as a homicide. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Pedro Montes Jr. of Salton City. The investigation is active and ongoing.
