The Imperial County Public Health Department is coordinating a full-scale exercise involving a simulated mass chemical exposure incident.

Exercise activities will occur on Thursday, May 21, 2026, throughout Imperial County. Pioneers Memorial Hospital will serve as the primary operations location with participation by healthcare, emergency response, fire service, law enforcement, education, and other sectors. The exercise will provide the participating agencies with an opportunity to evaluate local emergency response systems, operation communications, patient management coordination and interagency collaboration. Don't be surprised if you see an increased presence of emergency personnel and emergency vehicles near participating facilities.
