Authorities are investigating a Monday night fire that destroyed a Slab City church.

Imperial County Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at Slab City Monday night. They found the Blue Church fully engulfed in flames. Mutual aid was requested and the Calipatria, Westmorland and Calipatria State Prison Fire Departments responded with manpower and equipment. The church, a Slab City landmark, was totally destroyed.
