A 16-year-old girl died in an early Sunday morning traffic accident.

Yuma County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident in th 14-500 block of S. Avenue A shortly after 4:00 a.m.Sunday.  A car that was northbound on Avenue A apparently veered off the road, struck a utility pole, became airborne, rolled twice and ended up in an orchard. The 16 year old driver died at the scene. The accidentt remains under investigation but YCSO says speed appears to be a factor in the collision.
