During the month local officers are ramping up enforcement to ensure drivers keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel. They say while modern vehicles offer more technology than ever, the risks associated with in-dash touchscreens, GPS adjustments and smartphone notifications are reaching a critical point. Distracted driving is a major safety concern, while serious injuries and deaths are increasingly the result of distracted driving. Hands free laws are being strictly enforced.
