(Brawley City Council discusses the budget)...The city council met this week.

During the meeting they held a fiscal year 2026-2027 General Fund Proposed Budget Study Session. It was presented by finance director Sylvia Luna. The study session provided an overview of the proposed general fund budget and began the Council's review of department requests and fiscal priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. The council also received informational presentations from community organizations. The presentations were on the Imperial County Lithium Valley Specific Plan and Programmatic Environmental Impact Report, providing the perspectives from community and business stakeholders on the proposed plan and its potential regional impacts.
