(Traffic stop resulted in a lot more)....Brawley Police stopped a vehicle at just before noon Wednesday.
The stop was made in the 100 block of North First Street. Police say they stopped the vehicle because it matched the description of a vehicle involved in a missing person's report received from an out of county source. When officers approached the driver, the noticed the driver was suffering from what appeared to be a self- inflicted gunshot wound. Life saving measures were immediately initiated. The driver was transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital and airlifted to an out of county hospital. The person's condition was not released. The Brawley Streets remained closed to ensure public safety and to allow officers to process the area. The streets were reopened once te all-clear was given. The incident remains under investigation. -
