(Tourism is a major part of the Mexican economy)....With the recent violence in the Country, it was feared that source of revenue was going to take a hit.

It turns out not to be the case. Not yet anyway. Going into the weekend the Mexican Consulate in Calexico released the tourism numbers for 2025. It turns out there was a growth in tourism. There were 98.2 million visitors to Mexico last year, generating more than $34.9 billion in tourism revenue, a 6.2% increase over 2024. Since most of the Cartel's recent violence has been in early 2026, those numbers could change, but so far tourism numbers are very good.
