There is a 30 year commitment to provide mental health and substance use disorders service at 220 East Main Street in Brawley. In 2025, the California Department of Healthcare Services awarded Behavioral Health a $22.4 million grant for the Northern Horizons Project. The Department Head said Behavioral Health must submit an executed Program Funding Agreement to DHCS by January 29th. Plancarte-Garcia also asked for a budget amendment resolution for the grant amount to remodel the county-owned property and build a campus model to expand access to Behavioral Health Services. It will cover costs through June 30, 2030.
