The 2025Dove Season opens on Monday.

The September 1 dove opener ia usually a celebration in the Imperial Valley as family and long-time friends head to local fields to hunt for the swift flying game birds. Typically, large numbers of white-winged and mourning doves inhabit local agriculture fields and this year, the birds my be there, but recent storms may have scattered them from their usual haunts.

Monday is the opening day for the first part of the bird season that continues through September 15. It is usually the busiest hunting day on the calendar. The second part of dove season begins November 8 and runs through December 22, 2025. 

Mourning dove and white-winged have a daily bag limit of 15, uo to 10 of which may be white winged doves. The possession limit is three-times the daily bag limit. The invasive Eurasian collard-dove season is one year round with no bag limit.
