Six Democratic physicians serving in the U. S. House of Representatives have launched a new caucus.

The Congressional Doctors Caucus is dedicated to providing fellow members with insights on critical health issues. Representative Raul Ruiz, M.D., said, " I am excited to launch the Doctors Caucus that will fight for quality, affordable health care for American families. As doctors we understand the pain and suffering that people endure for not having access to care. We will work to ensure that every American has the health care they need." Ruiz is an Emergency Medicine Physician. Other physician members of the caucus include Ami Bera, from California, Herb Conaway Jr. from New jersey, Maxine Dexter from Oregon, Kelly Morrison from Minnesota and Kim Schrier from Washington.
