(Assault at Detention Facility)...It is the second assault within a week.

Late last week a detention officer at the Imperial Regional Detention Facility was escorting a detainee back from a medical visit. The Detainee assaulted the officer, causing swelling, redness and a bite mark. The officer was taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment. The assault was less than a week after a similar assault at the facility. The detainee was restrained by other detention officers.
