(El Centro Mayor Tomas Oliva resigned from the El Centro City Council).....At the time Oliva said he was resigning because of differences with the rest of the City Council.

Specifically, he did not like the direction the council was taking as it pertained to ECRMC. It is being reported Councilmember Claudia Camarena had authored a letter accusing Oliva of violation to the Brown Act. Specifically she accused him of illegal back-room deal making. A special meeting had been scheduled for March 11, Tuesday to discuss the accusations and possibly call for an investigation into the allegations and possible censure of Oliva.
