(El Centro's Old Post Office Pavilion)....It is set to reopen soon.
The Pavilion has been shut down since last September. That is when it was discovered the electrical system needed to be repaired. Costs to replace the electrical system reached into the hundreds of thousand s of dollars. Including almost $50,000 to the IID for a new pole and transformer and system updates. The building was originally constructed in 1932. It was listed on the National Register of Historical Places. After the U.S. Postal Service moved out of the building, the City of El Centro took control of the building, turning it into an events center.. Once it is reopened the City says they will resume booking activities.
