Saturday is the Drug Enforcement Administration's Drug Take back Day.
This is the DEA's 27th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Collection sites will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. throughout the United States. They will be collecting tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs. This day presents an opportunity to prevent pill abuse, theft and accidental poisoning by ridding households of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Vaping devises will be accepted provided lithium batteries are removed. Liquids, syringes and other sharps, and illegal drugs will not be accepted. In Yuma, the collection center will at the Yuma Sherriff's Office Foothills Substation. In Imperial County, the DEA will be at the Starbucks on South 4th Street in El Centro.
