Officials are investigating an apparent attempt at voter fraud.

According to the City of El Centro, an individual , falsely claiming to represent the City, knocked on the door of a resident, and said that they were there to collect their ballot. The City of El Centro made it clear that city employees do not engage in ballot collection. Residents are reminded to be vigilant and report any similar attempts by any one claiming to represent the city or any other organization to immediately report it to police. Only the official and secure methods of returning ballot should be used.
