(The District Attorney's office welcomes new deputies)....The D.A.'s office has announced the swearing in of two new Deputy District Attorneys.
Matthew Johnson and Sami Nouri were sworn in on October 10th. Imperial County D.A. George Marquez says they are getting the best of both worlds with these two. He said one has over 24 years experience and time spent as a federal defender. The other one is an energetic young man who just graduated law school. Johnson will be joining the prison unit, bringing over 24 years of experience in criminal defense to the Imperial County District Attorney's office. Johnson's career has gone from the Federal Defenders office in El Centro and Yuma, to private practice. Marquez said Johnson is known for his dedication to his clients and his unwavering commitment to justice. He is a skilled litigator with a deep understanding of the criminal justice system. Nouri, a native of Iraq, graduated from Wayne State University Law School on a full ride scholarship.. Being born in Iraq and living in Jordan and Detroit, he has a deep understanding of diverse cultures and experiences
