Nearly three-quarters of a million dollars' worth of cocaine was found in a SENTRI members vehicle.

According to the U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a woman, a SENTRI member and a U. S. citizen approached the San Luis Port of Entry on Sunday at about 4:45 p.m. The woman was referred to secondary inspection where non-intrusive technology screened the SUV and revealed anomalies in the rear section of the vehicle. A CBP K-9 unit also alerted to the SUV. CBP officers were able to locate 25 packages of cocaine hidden in the rear doors and quarter panels of the vehicle. The cocaine weighed nearly 68 pounds and has a street value estimated at $722,500. The woman was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.

According to the CBP, the Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) is a privilege, but participants are not exempt from inspections.
