(California Governor Tours Lithium Valley)....Governor Gavin Newsom came to the Valley after a visit to San Diego.

The visit Monday was to see the progress being made on transforming the Salton Sea Region into a global hub for battery production. Imperial Valley Contains some of the largest lithium deposits in the world, specifically underground near the Salton Sea, now known as Lithium Valley.. Experts believe Lithium Valley could provide enough ilithium to meet all of America's future demand and more than one third of global demand, supercharging the transition to zero-emission vehicles. The Governor spent a couple hours touring the area and speaking with County, IID, other political representatives and other local dignitaries, getting a better knowledge of the lithium projects underway.
