The latest information from the Imperial County Public Health Department shows a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the county.

As of Tuesday morning there are 325 active cases of the virus in the Valley. Of those , 21 individuals are hospitalized and 5 of those hospitalized occupy ICU beds. The number of deaths attributed to the virus  is now 748. The latest update showed that the county has been averaging 14 new cases per day and testing shows a 12.9 per cent positivity rate. Of those who have ben diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus , the vast majority have not been vaccinated. To date , nearly 235,000 doses of vaccine have been administered in Imperial County. 

The COVID-19 vaccine is available at the Imperial Veteran's Hall in Imperial as well as at many pharmacies and healthcare providers.
