Service dogs are getting some recognition.

The Imperial County Board of Supervisors proclaimed September as Service Dog Awareness Month. The proclamation recognizes the vital role service dogs play in supporting individuals with disabilities, fostering independence and improving quality of life. Access to Independence was recognized for its continued advocacy, education, and commitment to empowering people with disabilities and helping build a more inclusive and supportive community throughout Imperial County.
