The Imperial County Board of Supervisors adopted the Fiscal Year 2026 - 2027 Final Budget.
The nearly $800 million budget is approximately 4.8% over the prior fiscal year. According to the county, more than three-quarters of the spending is for public assistance, health and sanitation, and public protection. The county says the final budget also incorporates targeted savings and operational efficiencies. General Fund departments in the county previously provided 3 per cent budget reductions. Savings are also expected to come from the county's continued modernization of internal operations. As part of the action Tuesday, the board also approved the Fiscal Year 2026 - 2027 Authorized Allocation and Vacancy Report.
