A Yuma house was extensively damaged in a fire Friday afternoon.

On arrival, Yuma Fire Department crews found flames and smoke coming from the house in the 1000 block of E. Corona Drive. Firefighters were able to knock down the main body of the fire but, the fire had reached into the attic. This required additional efforts to locate and extinguish the remaining fire. Efforts were hampered by extreme heat and solar panels on the roof that Mae access more difficult. No injuries were reported. Cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
