Southwest High School students have been recognized for their work in addressing food insecurity.

The student-led Purple and Gold Pantry. The pantry is supported by Southwest students, the Foundation for Impact on Literacy and Learning (FILL) in partnership with Albertso's Companies Foundation Nourishing Neighbors. At the recognition celebration, students involved n the project received cerificates recognizing their leadership and commitment to addressing food insecurity in their community. Additionally, FILL presented Southwest High School with an additional $1,000 check. That brings the total grant to $2,000. 

Students in the CTE Health Science and Medical Technology Public Health Pathway and members of HOSA; Future Health Professionals, coordinate Purple and Gold Pantry operations, monitor inventory, organize donation drives, and prepare nutritious meal kits for families experiencing food insecurity.
