This week will start off hot, and then get hotter.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), summer isn't over yet. An Extreme Heat Warning will be in effect through Saturday with temperatures hitting as high as 115 degrees by next weekend. There is a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms before 2:00 p.m. Monday but otherwise there will be dry conditions for the Imperial Valley. According to NWS, overnight and morning lows will remain unusually warm.
