(IID had issued a Conserve Alert last Wednesday).....It was originally set to end Sunday.

It was extended to Monday and has now been extended to Tuesday. The Conserve Alert is due to continued high temperatures and forecasted high energy demand. The Imperial Irrigation District does not anticipate generation resource shortages. However, the District is asking customers to voluntarily reduce energy use during the peak hours of 4 pm to 9 pm. During those hours it is suggested you avoid using major appliances, set your thermostat at 78 or higher, turn off unnecessary lights, use floor or ceiling fans when possible and turn them off when you leave the room. Close shades, blinds and drapes to help keep homes cooler.
