The Unemployment Report is issued by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. According to the report June unemployment was 17.6 Percent, up from a revised 17.1 percent in May, and below the year-ago estimate of 18.4 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.2 percent for California and 4.4 percent for the nation during the same period. The report indicates there were 13,000 unemployed out of a labor force of 73,700.
