Four structures were lost when a fire broke out in Ocotillo.

Imperial County Fire Department responded to the 1100 block of Sierra Vista Avenue at about 3:00 p.m. Thursday. A second and then third alarm were issued with a fourth alarm following. Personnel from fire departments fro throughout the Imperil Valley battle the blaze that spread to engulf several houses Nearby residents were told to evacuate as the fire continued to burn. The fire was declared contained at about 6:30 p.m. Crews remained on scene into the night.
