A traffic stop in El Centro led to the discovery of a ghost gun.
On Thursday evening, El Centro patrol officers stopped a car for a vehicle code violation. A records check on the driver revealed he is a convicted felon currently on probation. The driver and two passengers were detained while the investigation continued. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded firearm concealed under the driver's seat. The handgun does not have a serial number. The driver and both passengers were arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail on weapons-related charges.
