A multi alarm fire destroyed an El Centro building Thursday.

The structure fire was reported at about 6:15 p.m. When El Centro Fire Department arrived they found the building fully involved with thick black smoke filling the air. A call was putout for mutual aid with fire crews and equipment from all over the Valley responding. An estimated 100 IID customers in the surrounding neighborhood were without power due to the fire.
