Four individuals are in custody following a Salton City murder.
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, Imperial County Sheriff's deputies responded to the report of a dead body located in the area of Plaza and Panorama Avenues in Salton City. The deceased was identified as 34-year-old Pedro Montes Jr. of Salton City. An investigation that included the review of digital evidence, physical evidence, and statements from involved parties led to the identification of four individuals connected to the homicide. On Tuesday, May 26, at about 11:30 a.m., Andrew Gallegos, 55, a resident of Salton City, was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was served at a residence in the 2400 block of Shore Hawk Avenue in Salton City where two other suspects were taken into custody. ICSO investigators identified them as Robert Gallegos, 57, and Crystal Hernandez, 37, both of Salton City. A short time later a fourth suspect, Blanca Robles, 53, was arrested at a nearby business.
All four were booked into Imperial County Jail. Andrew Gallegos was charged with Homicide. Robert Gallegos, Crystal Hernandez, and Blanca Robles were all booked for Murder and Accessory After the Fact. All four are being held on $1 million bail.
