The numbers were released recently bt the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department of California. According to the report, Imperial County unemployment for April came in at 16.5%. That is down from a revised 17% in March, but above the year ago estimate of 16.4%. This compares to an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5% for the state and 4% for the nation during the same period. The report indicates there were 12,000 eligible workers unemployed in April out of a labor force of 72,500.
